There is a master teacher within each and every one of us, a spark waiting to be ignited into a flame that can inspire and heal. We are called to the practice from a desire to know ourselves at the deepest level, to actualize the promise of yoga, to reach a state of freedom, inner peace and unity.
We are at a time when life appears to be moving very fast, things happen quickly, our attention is being pulled in a myriad of ways. The calm center from which all beauty, all connection and creativity flows can feel elusive. We are not alone. Many of us are suffering from ‘the dis-ease of the lost self,’ from feeling disconnected to themselves and those around them. For this reason, we must take a stand for our practice and place it as paramount in our life. This daily pilgrimage to our own center is where we derive our strength, our direction, and the vitality we need to fulfill our destiny.
The breath is considered the bridge between the body and the mind. Breath and prana are intimately connected. When we understand how prana works, what depletes it, what restores it, how to activate it, direct it, and relate to it, we gain knowledge of the life force which moves and animates all things. The practice of pranayama helps us to ‘dissolve the veils that cover our inner light’ and allows access to the subtle levels of consciousness and healing. - Kia Miller
ABOUT THE SERIES:
INNER REFUGE, led by Nicole Klasa, is a 4-week immersive virtual pranayama program designed to support you in nourishing your relationship with your breath, yourself and your life. Curated with four simple, yet profound breath techniques, this program is intended to offer embodiment tools that you can call upon anytime, anywhere.
The journey is as simple, yet profound as breathing. Each week will explore a different technique for you to discover new levels of lightness, clarity and coherence in your bodymind. Practitioners are welcomed into a safe virtual community space where you will have opportunities to share, listen and discuss experiences. Participants will also receive a mini-manual, including practice techniques, guides and a reflection journal to keep record of your experiences.
Some experience is recommended, but all that is truly required is a comfortable seat, a willing heart and 10-20 minutes each day. Beyond that, you will have tools for guidance and support each step along the way!
